Up late again…. October 29, 2009

While I was up I thought why not blog. I had to clean up my work emails (363 total) and schedule some events in my electronic calendar. My focus right now is to get well-organized and schedule my workout times daily. I am a routine person, so when things get chaotic I fold and shut down.

While up I in a munching mood, so I noticed my husband had a salad. (which he knows to share but didn’t until reprimanded, LOL.) An american salad with veggie turkey meat on top. I know its late but the veggie slice cold cut helps my protein count.

On my way to bed, I feel like process was certainly made with the organization of email and events. I feel so empowered. Tomorrow will be a great workout day and real estate day as well. Did not start on my paper as planned…move to tomorrow. ( I promise!)

Current Goal: 5 pds a month

Current Weight: ?????

Current Struggle:  MORE WATER/Food Diary

Current Mood:  Eager

Stay up a little late last night monitoring my husband. He was finishing his final exam online for his graduate courses. Once we got to bed it was tossing and turning for me, but he want straight to sleep. Needless to say, I woke up after 9:00 a.m. this morning.  So I got up checked some emails and Facebook, read my meditation,  ate breakfast and then off to the track.

This morning I gave it my all.  I power walked four full laps around the track and ran non stop  one lap and ran it back home. When I got home my husband commented ” You smell like the gym.” That was compliment to me, because I put it down real hard.

Anyhow I need to start this real estate day and start my cultural immersion experience paper for class.  :0)

Hello World!

Just got finish with water aerobics and doing some gliding in the pool. My husband came up with the idea to visit our neighborhood Natoraium and what a pleasant surprise. It was absolutely great. I stuck in the three feet for water aerobics and then practiced my swimming techniques. To have a facility so close to your home is a blessing. (why didn’t I use it before…laziness)

This is definitely an activity that will be incorporated into my fitness routine. I feel so good. I forgot to mention that I need a new bathing suit, because last year bathing suit is baggy. Crazy to see a baggy bathing suit, so I tie it in a knot on the back. (otherwise its full of water) :o ) I’m trying to hold out until February…going shopping for the Hawaii Anniversary trip to buy new digs.

So far this morning I have eaten a handful of mixed nuts. Looking forward to the rest of the day. I almost forgot the water aerobics instructor is a parent of a football player on my stepson’s football team at Westminster. I am super excited about participating in the class.

See ya later

Birthday Countdown….21 days October 26, 2009

As I was walking at the track this morning I was pondering about the 2009 year. I have made so many positive changes, so I immediately started thinking about what I could do in 2010. Then, the light bulb went off, slow down and finish this year off first. I thought what else could I accomplish by year-end.

The short-term goal of finishing the challenge with a bang is #1, completing grad semester with all “A’s”, completing my swimming lesson, and taking on my first management of a subdivision. I am so excited about all projects that I can keep my mind focused and committed to that. To often I jump ahead and but too many irons in the fire but not now. I want these things accomplished and then I move on to the next project. Therefore I have vowed to blog everyday to keep myself in check.

Last week I had a visit with my nutritionist Julie and we discussed my difficulties about keeping the food diary. She stated, maybe I would get a benefit in seeing my behaviors and moods based on my diet. I am very conscious about my food intake but I would like to have a routine on supplements. I don’t want to take a handful of pills to stay healthy. Right now I am taking a One a Day and a vitamin D gel capsule(once a week only). I feel great, but I wanted to know what is exactly needed for my body.

Julie reiterated why the food diary is a key to testing the water on my moods and the way I feel. I have vowed to keep a food diary at least three times a week. I will see how this works because I like routines…it’s so much easier for me.

On another note, my 35th birthday is around the corner. The Diva is looking to have those five pounds off by Nov 15th. I can do it! Even though I have bought back meat occasionally I believe it shouldn’t be a problem. I am shooting for two workouts a day for the remainder of the challenge. I am making the time for me and this will be my gift.

Current Struggle:  MORE WATER/Food Diary

Current Mood:  Excited and Jumpy

Today was my second swim lesson at GSU and what an experience. My mind is so focused on obtaining the techniques for swimming. The fear of the water is gone and I feel so confident. The bobbing technique was quite arduous but it led to the glide move later  in the class. I surprised myself and kick off and glider half way in the pool. This is a big accomplishment for me.

My goal with the beginning swimming to gain techniques to incorporate swim into my workout routine. I would like to have options for fitness each day. I thrive on having options and alternatives depending on my day. I look so forward to swimming and water alternatives for physical activity.

On another note I had a girl’s lunch scheduled for this evening and everyone had last minute cancellations. So I used today as a “me day”. So I got dolled up and proceeded to Lenox Mall to window shop for a birthday outfit next month. I had a fabulous time and received a bra fitting at Macy’s. I knew that my bra size had reduced because my bras were too big. I have gone down a bra size just as I expected. I can’t wait until birthday week “35″. I found some hot outfits and I look good.

The most impressive part of my day was the visit to the food court. I haven’t been to the mall in forever, so the samples of food and fast food was abundant. I look around for a while before determining my food choice. I was not impressed with the saucy meats and different  ”>concotions. After pondering on my choices I went to my love “Subway” and had a club sandwich  on wheat bread with Dansani water. (Oh I added meat back to my diet last month)  I felt so liberate to make a great decision for myself and a nutritious one. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on something or deprived. I knew it was the best and right decision for me and my body at this time. What a big change from last year.

I want to continue looking and feeling good. I look so forward to losing more weight and incorporating more physical activity options to my workouts. Until next time keep the faith and watch out for your girl!
